England's Newest Hit Makers: The Rolling Stones
4.7 out of 5 stars with 55 reviews
England's Newest Hit Makers: The Rolling Stones The Stones got their groove on early, making one of the few originals here, the blues pastiche ''Little by Little,'' a standout in terms of cool-eyed intensity. While taking on Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters, Buddy Holly and Marvin Gaye on a debut album would rightfully have daunted many a young band, this bunch just rocks it all. Outside the general toughness of sound and the front-cover glares, there's little of the badass 'tude-mongering that would

December's Children Dig how even a tossed-together cash-in by the Stones' U.S. label--the group's third American album of 1965--ends up smoking like all but their very best. They invent thrash with the opener, ''She Said Yeah'' (a Specialty Records obscurity penned, under a pseudonym, by Sonny Bono!) before laying down a leering ''Talkin' 'Bout You,'' a frenetic ''I'm Movin' On'' and their most consistent, varied list of originals yet. Dig, too, how even ''As Tears Go By'' sounds like a

Relics (Vinyl/Record Album)

Review by Andy Kellman
Since Relics is a compilation and not a regular studio album, it tends to be overlooked when thought of as one of Pink Floyd's better releases. It might not be regarded as a classic psychedelic masterpiece in the manner of The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, and it certainly won't ever achieve the multiple platinum status of Dark Side of the Moon, but it's a pretty good place to start with the band's early catalog. Originally issued in 1971, Relics culls from the band's

Is There Anybody Out There? The Wall Live, 1980-81
4.1 out of 5 stars with 100 reviews
No Description Available.Genre: Popular MusicMedia Format: Compact DiskRating: Release Date: 18-APR-2000 Exactly what was Pink Floyd's The Wall? Rock opera? Concept album? Performance art? Mere entertainment? While the truth may lie in a combination of all of the above, during the band's tour of 1980-81, The Wall was a bona fide spectacle. More than anything, Is There Anybody Out There? captures the volume, the bombast, and the grandeur of these famed performances with remarkable accuracy.
